Last month, it was reported that the Trainspotting director was wanted by Bond producers, even though no formal offer had been made, and his Bond involvement was put into doubt when it was confirmed he would direct a new movie from Richard Curtis.

"We are working on a script right now. And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in 6 or 7 weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now," he explained.
Boyle is working with regular collaborator John Hodge to expand an idea they had for a 007 adventure into a script for Bond 25.
"We've got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away," he teased.© Provided by Digital Spy
Of course, just because Boyle plans to direct Bond 25, it doesn't mean he definitely WILL direct Bond 25. We'll have to wait until MGM confirms a director as it could be that they might not to wait until the end of this year to start.
Bond 25 is currently expected to hit cinemas on November 8, in the US, with a traditional earlier release date in the UK.
