Dating scan - accuracy???

According to my last scan a few weeks ago I am 14+5 weeks pg.

However, according to my own dates, of which I'm VERY certain as I was charting, checking CM and using OPK's, I am 13+6 weeks pg. A difference of 6 days.

My midwife tells me my due date, worked out from the scan, WILL NOT change now irrelevant of my own calculations.

Has anybody the experience of being convinced their own dates are behind those given by the hospital? I was wondering whether your babies arrived more in time with your own date or the one given to you.

When I read about baby's typical development at different stages I don't know whether to currently consider myself 13 or 14 weeks?

I know baby's all grow at slightly different rates, but do you think that although I'm only just into my 2nd trimester I might have a big baby?

Any comments welcome! x

hi there, id always go by the scan as they r accurate, but as u were keepin an eye on when u ovulated then maybe its just a big baby. my first was always 7 days bigger on scans then by my own dates,he was 2 wks early and weighed 7lbs 4oz!
I wouldn't get upset over 6 days difference.  It really doesn't mean much from a medical standpoint (I'm a L&D nurse).  Since your baby is measuring ahead of your dates, I wouldn't be too concerned and be happy that he/she is thriving!!  Whatever the midwife is telling you is your due date, go by that date.  That's what the hospital will only look at when you come in to deliver.  You should consider yourself 14 almost 15 weeks along!  Congrats!!
Thanks ladies, I'm going to go with you and the hosptial dates, one week less to wait!!! x
halfpint0731 said it well.  I concur w/her!  Congratulations!
